Is it worth it to hire a financial advisor?

Is there a typical minimum amount of money that a financial advisor will work with?

Probably. I have had a deal with most of my clients over the last 29 years... they don't do Financial Planning, and I don't attempt to do what they do. So far, we have all prospered and are still alive.

Even if you believe that you are capable of constructing your own retirement portfolio and that you have a solid financial plan in place that address all of your goals and potential pitfalls - it may stll make sense to have a planner take a look at your plan. A second set of eyes can be useful in many instances - and financial planning is no exception.
