Laid off at 55 1/2. I understand that I won't be penalized if I have to use some 401 k money but am a bit confused.
If you are age 55 or older and separated from services (i.e., laid off) then you an withdraw funds directly from your 401(k) and pay normal income taxes, but not the 10% early withdrawal penalty. Is an indexed life insurance policy a viable option for a high income earner who is a wage earner?
Daniel, I am not a big fan of the type of life insurance you referenced, and the clients of mine who have purchased it (separate from me) over the years have not been satisfied with the results.
